A couple of weeks back it was Labor Day and more importantly it was Andrea's birthday, her 26th. During that weekend i did a little bit of camping and we both did a little bit of hiking. It started with a campout with the Young Men who were 14and older. We went to a place called the Quarry here in Mooresville. The Quarry is an old stone quarry that was shut down after they dug down to deep and hit a spring of water. It filled up so quickly that the workers weren't able move all the equipment. It is now owned by a local dive club and a member of the bishopric is a member of that five club, so evry year he takes the young men out for some free diving. I was able to go and found out that I am able to dive to a depth of 30'. I was pretty impressed with myself, although there were other people that could go to 50'. That was Friday and Saturday. Sunday was just any other Sunday so no need to report that.
Monday was Andrea's birthday and we decided to go to Stone Mountain and do some hiking. It was a nice and strenuous 4.5 mile hike that wound through the park and up what seemed to be the stairway to heaven. Seriously, I have never seen a trail with a staircase up the side of the mountain before. But it seems that every state park that I've been to here has a staircase up the side of the mountain. It was a very good hike with just the two of us. Here are some pictures of the hike:
